The b_TEC project promotes a range of knowledge-intensive economic activities to bring about development and innovation in the energy, water and mobility sectors

Plataforma Españona de eEficiencia Energética (The Spanish Energy Efficiency Technology Platform) (PTE-EE) was set up in October 2008. Several businesses and research centers have since joined this initiative of the Ministry of Science and Innovation in pursuit of a common goal: to promote RD&I in energy-efficiency technology.

During its first year of activity, the PTE-EE analyzed the current state of technology relating to energy efficiency and presented needs and recommendations along with the way forward to achieve the ultimate goal of more reasonable and responsible energy use.

The Clúster d’Eficiència Energètica de Catalunya (Catalonia Energy Efficiency Cluster) (CEEC) was created in 2008 with the support of the Catalan Energy Institute (ICAEN), the Catalan Agency for Competitiveness (ACC1Ó) and the Fundació b_TEC in order to provide the market with integrated and innovative solutions for energy efficiency and to foster synergy between companies and institutions active in this field.

The CEEC was set up as a nonprofit business group that brings together companies which offer, promote or develop energy-efficiency products or services in the following areas: buildings, mobility, public services, industry and education.
