About Us

The Fundació b_TEC was created to lead the design, organization and management of the Diagonal-Besòs Campus and to promote the contents of the Campus by involving the government, universities and the business world

The Fundació b_TEC strives to make the Diagonal-Besòs Campus a cutting-edge campus in an attempt to transform knowledge into economic activity more efficiently and with a strong commitment to the local community. The Campus is designed to be an impetus for economic and local transformation of the area between Barcelona and Sant Adrià de Besòs.

The Fundació does this work on behalf of its sponsors: the Diagonal-Besòs Campus Consortium, comprised of local authorities; the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (Technical University of Catalonia) (UPC) and the Universitat de Barcelona (University of Barcelona) (UB); and other institutions taking part in the project, including the Generalitat de Catalunya (Catalan Government) and the Cambra de Comerç de Barcelona (Barcelona Chamber of Commerce).

The Fundació b_TEC brings together projects and initiatives within the framework of the future technology campus and is tasked with encouraging businesses, universities and research centers to participate in joint projects designed to foster innovation and technology transfer in the fields of energy, water and mobility in the Besòs area.

This commitment to developing innovation and technology in a highly promising region has recently been strengthened with the Barcelonès Nord Innovation Ecosystem project, a strategic priority that will be essential in this part of the metropolitan area. The project, developed by the Fundació at the request of the Forum of Municipalities, involves the municipalities of Badalona, Santa Coloma de Gramenet, Sant Adrià de Besòs, Montgat and Tiana.
